Shahul Hamid murdered in Tippu Jayanti Celebrations: Trio charged have been acquitted by Court
Madikeri/Coorg: Kavan, Bhishma and Ramesh were the trio who were nabbed by the police in connection with the case of Shahul Hamid who was murdered during the Tippu Jayanti celebrations in Madikeri on 10 Nov 2015. Hamid had died a day after he suffered bullet injury at a hospital in Mysuru.
The allegation was one of the trio had opened fire at passenger vehicle in which Hamid was travelling to avenge the death of VHP Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Devapanda Kuttappa, who had died under mysterious circumstances during the violence. It was reported that the team of police had seized a .22 gun and the care used for the crime from Kavan and Bheeshma on their arrest.
The charge sheet was filed by the district police after investigation against Kavan, Bheeshma and Ramesh. The district sessions court judge Pawanesh has acquitted the accused trio due to the lack of proper evidence.
