Ramalinga Reddy takes charge as Home Minister in Karnataka
Bengaluru: On the instructions of High Command, Dr. Parameshwara had put down his papers as the Home Minister of Karnataka and since then CM Siddaramaiah himself was handling the ministry for a little period. It is reportedly the forthcoming assembly elections in the state that the KPCC Chief has been asked to resign from the home ministry and take up the task of strengthening the party and prepare for the next elections.
As the position was vacant, Senior Congress leader Ramalinga Reddy has taken charge as next Home Minister here on September 1.
It is to be noted that Ramnath Rai was the key contender for the post of Home Minister, but there was an outcry from Coastal Karnataka against the government’s move to give him the charge of home ministry.
H M Revanna has been replaced as Transport minister while MLC R B Thimarpur, a dalit leader has been made the minister for excise. Meanwhile, labour minister Santhosh Lad has been given additional portfolio of skill development.Ramalinga Reddy takes charge as Home Minister in Karnataka
