…the slogans Pro-Kannada activists raised with their strong demands
Bangalore 22 July 2017: #KannadaBekuHindiBeda protest organized at Mysore Circle in the noon hours by Kannada Vakkoota saw hundreds of pro-Kannada activists raising slogans against the Central Government for imposing Hindi in Karnataka State. The agitation was led by Kannada Vakkoota leader Vatal Nagraj and the other member organizations and the respective leaders of the Vakkota present were Dr. Rajkumar Fan Club President S.R. Govind, Kannada Sene President K.R. Kumar, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike President Praveen Kumar Shetty, Kannada Jagruti Vedike President Manjunath Dev, Pro-Kannada activist H.V Girish Gowda and others.
While addressing the media persons Kannada Vakkoota leader Vatal Nagraj warned of storming banks if Kannada is not used in offices and continue with Hindi. Vatal urged the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah not to bend to the pressure laid by the Central Government with regards to implementing Hindi language in the state. Vatal Nagraj slammed the MLAs for not raising voice in the assembly against the forceful imposition of Hindi in Metro Rails, Banks, Railways and other offices in the state.
Film Producer S.R Govind came down heavily upon the government officers in the state for showing favor towards Hindi language in the state disregarding Kannada.
Karnataka Rakshana Vedike President Praveen Shetty urged the statement government to withdraw cases lodged by the police against the pro-Kannada activists for holding agitations intended to save our beloved language Kannada.
Kannada Jagruti Vedike President Manjunath Dev seriously criticized the Modi led Government at the Center for its dictatorial attitude in implementing anti-people policies since the day it came in to power. Gowda said, this day we are observing as a Black Day and flashing black flags.
